It is probably fair to say that the season so far has been a little mixed, as the form guide for the first ten matches shows:

The season was punctuated by two heavy defeats in the Cups, despite a good performance in the first game. This has impacted the overall goal difference, so we currently are still in deficit having conceded 16 goals in those two games.

The League has been a more positive picture with three wins, a draw and two narrow defeats. As a result, Balham currently sit third in the table, but there are teams just behind us with games in hand - including Sunday's opponents, Westside. From what we have observed in the League so far, the Whites should not fear anyone - they simply need to show more consistency and could end up in the promotion places.

With a +6 goal difference in the League, Balham are showing that they are capable of performing well. Scoring on average more than four goals per League game, there have been a number of high-scoring affairs for the spectators to watch.

Well done to George, Jacob, Gethin and Jude who are ever-present in all ten games so far:

In the scoring charts, Max and George lead the way with 7 each, closely followed by Gethin and Will with 5 apiece - all to play for!

Max and Ty have the largest number of MOTM votes, closely followed by Gethin and Jacob.

Balham have the opportunity to cement a place towards the top end of the table if they can show more consistency and put some back to back wins together. Sunday's game will be critical against another leading side - should the boys play as they did against BedHead, there is a great opportunity to put an important marker down.
