Attention turns to the Cups

For the next two weekends, Balham will kick off their Cup matches - again a journey into the unknown against teams that we have not played against before.

The matches will take place on 10th and 17th October; 24th October will be a rest weekend in advance of the League returning on 31st.

The first tie is this coming Sunday in the SYL Cup, with a home clash against Walton & Hersham Youth Swans. On paper, this looks like a tricky fixture as the opposition play a couple of divisions above us and have started the season reasonably well.

The following weekend sees an away fixture in the first round of the London Cup. It will be a long journey through town to Wingate & Finchley who play in the third tier of the Eastern Junior Alliance league - a league which is mainly composed of clubs from the North and East of London and surrounding counties.
